This is the deep-sea salvage tug “Hermes” constructed in 1923 by the Germans. During WWII she was sunk by bombs on July 19, 1944. After the war she was raised by the French, repaired and brought back into service for the French Navy until about 1974.
I only used materials to complete this replica. No textures were used. All portholes, skylights and windows have transparent glass. Several months ago I discovered how to do this using only materials. Rendering is not required. This was a great “Aha” moment for me.
Nice model, but this is the wrong flag. It should be the Nazi flag because it's a world war 2 ship, but that's just nitpicking ;)
Sweet model, very detailed. Nice!
