I excepted the wineglass-competition and here are my own two cents.
The lightning was relative complicated, because i wanted the candle to lit the scene, which produces a lot of noise, especially at the glassmaterial. So it was a lot of tweaking with extra arealights and hdr lightning.
For compositing i used imagestacking (http://blendernerd.com/image-stacking/) to further reduce noise , a glare node and some colorcorrection. There´s still a lot of improvement possible, but i´m through with this scene and want to do something else. :)
Noob Question: How did you make the flame of the candle? Why does it show as a sphere?
