A simple material useful for tiles exteriors: a dark blue stone, big texture tileable onto map your tiles. You can use non-square tiles too and even different ratios (no too much, of course...).
Displacement need to be mapped on its own channel, I use this for lots of polygons with bpy.ops.uv.reset() directly from the python console.
