This is another model i decided to make to try to improve my skills in Blender 3D!
In the packed .blend file you get the 1262 tris low poly model on the first layer and on the second layer there is a high poly model of the knife. Also included are three textures, a diffuse map, specular map and a normal map wich are all at 1024 x 1024.
I didn't use any references except for the wood and metal to get kind of the right specularity and feel.
I would love the hear comments and critique on what to improve and/or change!
Wow, I didn't even think about chipped edges on the blade haha! Next time I'm making an old or used blade weapon I'll make sure to try and make chipped edges. Thanks!
Nice textures on the model, I like models that I don't need to render to see how good thy are.
Excellent work love the modeling so perfect for uv unwrapping. How did you do the texturing? I see you got three picture for specularity etc how did you do them?
I baked the normalmap with xnormal and i made the other textures using photoshop :) By watching other peoples textures you can learn alot how to get your textures to look good. But mine still needs some work i believe :P

Looks cool! I think it would make it look even better if you made the blade chipped on the edges. Great texturing!
