Description:

I am not please with the textures on this model. Side view is fine, but front has poor texturing. Doesn't look right from front view, hence,

I am looking for at least 2(Side and front) real reference images of a cheetah to project on to this model to texture it. If any body can help, I and the community would greatly appreciate, because i will upload the final to share with everyone.

Your textures must be at least 1024x1024 or higher and the angle that the photo is taken must be right for projection paint on to the model.

In Blender, how do you keep an item with multiple parts together to make it easy to move around and manipulate. For example a gun. Do i parent all the gun parts to a bone or to an object.

By the way, this is a low poly model.

Thanks!

You can either parent ( Ctrl+P ) the parts to a single object and move\rotate\scale that object around and the others will follow or you can just join the parts ( Ctrl+J ) and merge them into a single mesh.

Nice model. To answer your question select all parts of the model and parent them with ctrl-p

Looks great. I'll get a nice Blender paint setup going on it. Then you can touch it up with Blender paint in 3D. None of the 2d paint. I haven't used photoshop for blender in weeks. Use the mesh mirror modifier on body, it makes it quicker to model, uv-unwrap, rig, weight paint and tweak the mesh later. Once you're happy apply the mods and bake textures. I may try to rigify it. I'm working rigging this http://www.blendswap.com/blends/animals/warwolf/ and have the hal man beast running on all four.

    Thanks for sharing.

Oh thanks so much MajorNightmare! I would really love that! I am not good at 2D painting, so i tend to use images and do project paint. If you or anyone else can help with the rigging i would also appreciate that. My rigging is really shitty.
