BlenderBoy55's Cheetah showed promise ( http://www.blendswap.com/blends/animals/cheetah/ ). Just needed a texture paint setup to fix the project painting issues, added HR Nor bake and you guessed it, rigify. Yes Rigifiy isn't just for biped's anymore. Check out Jamie's tut on how to modify the normal bided rig to a quadraped

Added my standard lighting and ground plane setup. -Texture Paint is ready for more doodling, HR Sculpti is ready for refinement and the weight painting is good enough to get you going with the animation. There are some trianlges still in the mesh. I didn't realize until after baking and didn't want to start over. You are welcome to improve on it. In Texture paint I worked on the diffuse and Norm-fine layers with some brushes I made to fake the fur up a little. Enjoy

You are free to better them. That was the point of editing it for BlenderBoy, i.e. setting up the texture painting... not to mention rigging, weight painting and lighting. O
Hey man thanks for texturing my Cheetah! I tried to leave you a reply but for some reason my comments aren't getting posted. I think there is a bug on this sight. Some postings just don't show up. Anyway, you did an amazing job with the textures and the rigging. This is the kind of help i was looking for. I have also learned a lot after looking at the way the mesh deforms. I need to rework the shoulders so they don't deform in a funny stretchy way. Thanks again!
NP. Glad you you checked it out and liked it. Watch anything Jonathan William's for mesh topology. He's a Meshiah! lol. That's pretty much my setup for bipeds, with a twist , no arms and 4 legs. But it works. I would have like to spend more time on it, but I did what I set out to do with it. You did a good job to, it was fun to work on. Cheers
This was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for saving me a lot of trouble :)
it's nice but the textures are awful.
