Low Poly Seagull
This little critter is meant for distant shots where you needseagulls flying around.
I've used a toon shader material with a simple node material which blends in the feather texture using vertex colors. The bird feather texture is pretty low poly, not really intended for close scrutiny. The color of the seagull's body is also painted on with a second vertex color layer.
Going into POSE MODE on the armature the RED bones are the main control bones for the wings and tail. The left wing (as the seagull flies ;) is set to mirror the motion of the right wing using a COPY LOCATION bone constraint.
In a similar fashion, the spread and angle of the tail bones is setup so that you only need to position the red right bone to pose the entire tail.
This is setup to mimic natural flight charactersitics, in a similar way as my low poly crow model.
This is exactly what I needed! I'm making a grassy sunrise scene, and in the background it won't matter it's a seagull:)
Thank you so much for CC0!
:D
I'm having trouble making a simple flap animation. It seems that the animation starts and ends slowly, which is usually fixed in the graph view of blender. But I don't really understand what I'm looking at in the graph view of this model as it's more involved. Would you be able to provide some clarification?
This is a nice background bird rig. I like the mirror bones setup. It is easy to animate.
Thanks for posting it as CC0!
