I recently attended a Star wars exhibit where I saw the actual miniature of the Lambda Shuttle they used in the movie. anyways I then decided to go back to my model and fix the discrepancies and texturize it.
I would assume it would be pretty high, considering the file size. Cool model Butterfly.
Thanks. 190000 faces or so. much more efficient than my old model but its highly detailed. Its about 80 to 90% accurate compared to the original ILM miniature . I'm still perfecting the model and texture. I'll update it again when I improve my craft.
Its not the poly count that raised the file size. its the textures. They're high resolution for close shots. My older model is twice the polly and the file size is only 6 meg. Download it and see for yourself.
Amazing Stuff! I can't imagine how much better it can get. It's one of my favorite craft from Star Wars.
That file size for a simple shuttle model is ridicoulus Dude. You dont have to model every screw on that damn thing. There are other methods like baking, texturing, bump maps etc..There is a detailed AT AT Model here on Blendswap, it only has 8MB file size and is looking as good as your monsterfilesize model...just sayin..
The size of this model is due to the textures not the polly count. I used all the proper methods in texturing. but I'm still leaning efficiency in baking though. Plus, I have only been blending for less than a year. Dude, if you don't like it don't download it. like everyone on this site I did this for free.
It alway seams like the critics never actually create anything. Just judge... Just sayin..
Where is your master peace DM99? I would love to see a real master's works of art.
What I was going for was a highly detailed, no-compromised, accurate, down to the last damn rivet Star Wars Fan art replica. And it was a blast making it. Im currently working on Version 3. and it may still have those extra pesky details. as well as many other models and full scenes. Hey If 57 megs is too much. Well, its the year 2013 and the1990's wants their computer back. At any-rate. Like I said earlier I'm still improving my craft as well as my efficiency, and I love Blender. I'm a little obsessed with it.
Hay man looks grate! And I think everyone that is truly in to blender is a little "obsessed" with it (well I am any way) And I like every little rivet it gives it value! Good looking model and may the .blend be with you always!
Cheers! Rex
Is this rigged? Because i'm not familiar with the rigging process... anyway, if it's rigged: could tell me how to use this kind of rigging... PS: I'm making a fan film and this is the best model I could find and I would love to use it.....
Nice man. Inspire me a lot to concept elements called "space junk". Your credit atached and congratulations. Thank you very much! Edward from Brazil.
Looks great, what is the poly count?
