This is a fairly detailed (750K faces) model of the 1970 Porsche 917K racecar that won Porsche the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time.
I made it during the "Iconic Car Modeling Workshop " that tyrant monkey organised on BlenderArtists
The exact details of the model are, therefore, taken from the (first) car that Steve McQueen drove in the movie 'Le Mans (1971)'. (Each one of these made was slightly different)
The interior is pretty basic, and the mechanical details aren't that extensive, or accurate. But other than that I don't think I've left any detail.
Do let me know in the comments if you do anything cool with it!
I hope you can put it to some use. If you make something cool with it, do post it here!
And oh, I'm a huge fan of your's. :)
Very fine detailed body work & accurate proportions ! I also like the perfect 3D tire tread. Thank You for sharing this nice historic model. nearly 500 downloads but only one like !? ... what a shame
Converted part of it for my use in Daz Studio. Will likely convert the rest of later. See my first render of it on the DeviantArt website, under artist "luqu" and picture name "High Speed Chase". (Blendswap no longer allows posting of URL links in these comments.)
I'll use the model as a part of different scale model cars for my Google Meet chats :)
Astonishing job! You have captured the shape!. It is one of the most iconic car in motorsport. Thanks a lot for sharing it!
I'm looking forward to download it and examine it. It looks really sharp and clean. I love the car so I expect a lot :)
