This was a joint project between myself and KUHN0362. I did the textures and he did the modeling. We spent a lot of hours on it.
NOTE: Due to size considerations, this file contains ONLY TEXTURES, 4kx4k in jpg format. You can easily re-size textures if necessary. You can find the model here
Unfortunately I didn't know about that wonderful plugin :D From the looks of it I can tell I did basically same thing, but manually, tinkering in PS. Also I hand painted most of the details. Anyway painting textures wasn't the most time consuming part, unwrapping was.
Greg, following that link just sent me down a six hour long rabbit hole and I still don't know how dDo works. Thanks for the intro. Much appreciated.
@Yazjack really nice painting work then :D I remember when I textured Chris's Hyperspace Shuttle, the longest part was assigning materials and unwrapping too.
@Deadparrot it's a great program, though I find it's more suited to game models or background props, but the batch functionality of it is just brilliant
Really nice work man! I and probably a lot of other users out here would like to see a tutorial on how you achieved such great results.Especially the unwrapping of all those parts.
Sometimes it feels like christmas all day everyday on blendswap!!! THANKS A MILLION FOR THIS!
Great shading and texturing sir :D Do I see a hint of dDo in there?
