Here are my rigged hands. Awesome for VR and used in many projects.
With the Displacement modifier you can adjust the thickness of the hand, each finger can be controlled with only one bone per finger and that is a separate bone to clench a fist.
Without subsurf modifier one hand has 512 faces, ideal for modern first person shooter, I think.

Hi! I am completely new to Blender... may i know how u move the fingers to create the movements? I have downloaded this but i couldn't figure out how i can move the fingers individually like what is shown in the video. Thanks a million :)
You simply select the armature (bones), crush "Ctrl_tab" and, in this way, you go into "pose mode", then you can select the individual bones and move them as you wish with "g", "r" or "s ". I hope I've been of help to you! ;)
I just wanted to say thank you for posting this rig. I'm currently using it right now on a project and it has been a real blessing for me. I haven't worked with many rigged characters before and this has just worked perfect for me. I remember a time, 2 or 3 years ago. I tried to do a hand during a week, but, despite my volonty, that has ended like a radioactive ill spider... And for rigging... AH AH, that was hilarious. Nevertheless, I improved my skills a lot, and your hand is coming from the sky to save me : I will analyse this and its rigs. I'm sure I will learn really a lot thank to you. This is not the method i used to texture the hand but if have to make a new one, i would make it like in this tutorial.

Great hands! Learning a lot about Blender using this, but running into a few obstacles. I'm trying to remove the forearm.R bones but when I delete them, it deletes the forearm.L bones. How can I unlink this? I just want the left hand. Thanks in advance.
