Here a procedural leather material for cycles is. There is a brief explanation in blenderartist. This zip includes six leather colors and two kinds for each one: new or worn.
The model is made by @Tuqueque. You can download from blender demo files.
I hope you like it.
EDIT:
I have updated the file to Blender 2.69 version. Now the materials have less texture nodes so they should render faster. I have included a new preset for each color, cracked leather. So the new file includes 18 leather presets, which look better than the old ones. Also I have left the old 12 presets. Their names are ended by "_268".
I hope you enjoy them.
You are welcome. I think they might be very useful for clothes and furniture.
Yes, could you tell me the problem? or upload a file to pasteall.org?
These are incredible, been following the thread on ba and finally downloaded some -- but honestly top rate procedural textures, keep them coming, please.
Very realistic shaders thanks . but it seems taking very long time to render Expecting more from you Regards
That is a problem of displacement in cycles. The material uses three 'Leather' node groups, because the render is a foreground. If you want to use it for background, or you don't need such detail, you can remove two 'Leather' node groups. This will speed up your render.
It looks very impressive... but i fail at scaling the texture, because in my scene the leather structure is way to big...
Me he descargado un par de packs (el de metal materials y este) ya que me sera de mucha utilidad para algunos de mis models, muchas gracias por los blends! Me alegro de que hayan algunos miembros hispanos por aqui.
Thank you very much for all your comments. I'm going to UPDATE this material with the next version, Blender 2.69, including the new Mapping node and updating the Bump node setup. It was created with the first bump node version which doesn't have distance parameter.
This is incredible! This is exactly what I'm looking for to render some furniture. Thank you so much!!
I love your materials :) You are very very good in creating materials!
Muchas gracias por tus materiales. Estoy empezando con Cycles y me estan siendo de gran ayuda.
Awesome materials! However the texture is too large for my project, and I just can't figure out how to scale the whole material down, without having to change my setup. Any help, please? :)
Hi @Suicune4everlover. When I need to scale this kind of texture, I insert a Value node and several Multiply nodes, plugged into the scale value in texture nodes. So you can change the scale from only one value. You can see this material to understand what I mean: http://elbrujodelatribu.blogspot.com.es/2013/10/stucco-material-iii.html
thank you very much muchas gracias... son de gran ayuda estos materiales...
Though I've only downloaded a couple of your texture packs, they are done really well. Thank you very much for your time and effort. Outstanding textures!
Hello... I'm making an asset pack, and I've done a quicky job for a leather material. I'm now getting complaints on it, and being told to get one of these. I'll be selling the pack, and I want to make sure it's okay for me to use your materials in there. I will give you credit in the description. Thanks :D
If your pack is a material pack, my materials are not available for selling. Thery are free and you can include a link to here, but you can not sell any of them. They are free for everybody.
Hi, thanks a lot for such awesome materials! I have a question: How can I bake the normals from the bump on your material? The normals are plain when I bake them :( Would be great if you can help me. Thanks!
Hi @martin242. I want to study this, but I think you need to bake the patterns only for height as a "diffuse color" type. Then use this image of the pattern through a image texture node plugged in a bump node to create you normal vertors.
That's just incredible material setup! Also thank you so much for the license! Hope you will enjoy some of my models.
Thank so much @1DInc , your models are really awesome. I would be glad you use my materials on them.
Amazing material, thank you! Used it in my short film, you can see it at 1:10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLgHulH9NFY
Your metal pack worked great buy this one seems to use the jpegs as the material. Can anyone help?
I'm not very advanced at using Blender, so it may be obvious, but I can't figure out how to get to the other colors.
These are excellent, as usual. I'm using one, with a slightly reduced bump map, in a current WIP. http://noctumsolaris.deviantart.com/art/Pearl-necklaces-on-a-bust-WIP-558841930
excuse me could you tell me the right steps to append this material ? and it seems very sweet :)
Thank you so much =) I've used your worn leather for a showreel - looks very very realistic!
ok Im trieng to understand this material and can anyone tell me what i have to do to add the LeatherPattern and Brownleader node. Obvioustly its got a custom name but im not experienced enought to figer this out ;_; Thx
Hi I really like the materials but how do I import the materials to use on a couch I made for my scene?
Thank you so much...can you make a suede leather material too..?
i feel like a moron for asking this, but i'm new to blender so i think i'm justified. I can append the files easy enough, but when I check them out on rendered I get a teal background with my character in yellow, no contours or textures, either from the material or my guys armor and other thingies are discernable, i figure that I'm doing something wrong or something i'm not doing?
I'm having the same problem, when i copy material to ma project there's nothing (literaly the object with material is invisible)
For some reason is impossible to download this file neither from Firefox or Chrome! :-?
Thanks.
Thank you so much you are amazing again as usual!!! Saved my project. :')
Beautiful procedural leather. I'll probably end up baking it to vertex UV textures for individual objects. Thank you for sharing.
This is fantastic! I'm making a leather glove and this was the perfect material for it
Great job. But I still did not understand how to add material to my project. When copying an object, not all options are transferred. Also, when choosing some positions, the links in the nodes are broken. Another question is how to scale the material without losing the skin pattern?
Hello, thanks for sharing, Can i use the materials for commercial in an addon with GPL license?
