German Leichter Panzerspähwagen (Light Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle) from WW2. Most of the details match the reference images, but the undercarriage is only done good enough to be viewed from the side and not so closeup. Same with the inside of the tower. It's fully UV-mapped, and it comes with a UV-map that is done entirely by me, except the symbol for the Africa Corps. The weathering of the map could be done better, but it's ok at least.
It can be seen in this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1ct-xJWTAQ
I did a little more work on the map after that though as well as switched to cycle for rendering.
I think the other designation for this was SDKFZ 222.
I modelled the 21st Panzer division, and 9th and 12th SS Panzer divisions at 1/100 when I was younger.
Had quite a few of these.
Nice modelling.
Yes, you're right. That was the one I was going for.
Sounds like interesting projects! Don't see those kinds of models that often anymore unfortunately.
Hi Daniel74, thanks a bunch for this nice model. I made a stereoscopic animation of it here on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjXl-ZxWnKI and used some renders of it in my new ebook "Tanks in 3D: Stereoscopic Recognition Sheet (Book 1: Famous German Armor of the Second World War)". I'd like to present you with a free copy but alas new blendswap has no private messaging anymore. Feel free to hit me up here in the comments, on twitter.com/tanks3d or youtube for more info. Thanks again, Stan
Hi! Thanks for telling me! Glad you found a use for it! I couldn't send a message on Twitter since we're not following eachother. I follow you, so if you folow me back I can send a message I think. Or you can send me a message at https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-andersson-3586027/
Hi Daniel, glad you replied and I wrote you a message on twitter. CU there, Stan
I promise not to see the details. Thus I can tell you that your vehicle was accurate modeled in spite of --- as you said --- those minor detalis. Fine result.
