EDIT: My apologies to anybody who downloaded it previously and had issues with it. I made a very n00bi3 mistake when I finished up the file. It should work perfectly for everybody now. Thanks for downloading!
A simple scene where text comes crashing down on a plane, expelling shards of a glowing material. Thought of this, worked on it for a few minutes, came up with this. If you want, you can use the system to see how everything works, or you can change the text to what you want and keyframe the drop again. :pEDIT: By request, I copied the file and made the file named textEDITABLE.blend the same file WITH editable text. You'll be able to change the text message/type how you want, and you can do whatever. Hope that helps the guys that want it. :p
Full Animation:

Rendered in cycles at 2200 samples/frame, 150 frames. Render time was one hour.
I actually changed the text to an actual object so it would work with effects a little better.... What you can do is move to the animation screen-mode and check out how the F-Curve looks for it. You can then add in your own text object and edit it how you want it. The reason I did the whole thing with changing it to an object is I was using a custom font (Imagine by jooki @dafonts) that would change how everybody else viewed the file. If you guys want, I can upload a secondary file that has just a base text object so you can easily change it. :)
Aaight haha, when I get the chance I'll see if I can throw it together. :p
The new blend file is uploaded, it'll be named textEDITABLE.blend. Have fun with it bro. :)
For some reason the file seem to not render the final image, wanted to know if I was doing something wrong or a setting that I have to change, all I have done is download the file unzipped it, open it up changed the text and samples and still get a blank screen
right from the objekt mode button there stand solid... you have to change to material. Then if you go more right there is a camera (open gl render). if you click this you can see the picture and can save it. :)
sry solved this problem but when i try to render the image it just gives me a blank screen
Hey man, I replied to your comment on YT, but I'll post it again here. :p
You might want to check Blender's CUDA rendering options. I rendered this out on dual GTX 460's, so the options are set up for GPU Experimental rendering. Try changing it to CPU and see how that works for you. Your computer might be trying to render out on a graphics card that isn't there.
That's what one other person had, and switching it to CPU fixed his problem. Might be worth a shot.
Wait, nevermind..... This is freaky. My original copy on my computer still works just fine, but both of the files in this zip have that glitch.... Not quite sure what's going on. I'll look into it.
I'm doing a school project and am not getting render someone help me please. When I render not appears nothing is all black so I can edit, is that by putting colors if yes how please help me I can not surrender
how i animate the editable version? when i render it it shows "secuence render" and i just see black
After a little bit of messing with it, I figured it out, and it's a really dumb mistake...
Go into the 'Video Editing' tab of blender, and delete the PNG image string. Render it out again and it should work. I'll reupload the thing with it correct. .-.
After the image sequence is deleted, it should render out correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience!
I have NO idea if it downloaded right, but it came out as a .zip file. How would I actually put it in?
Apologies for the late reply here, man.
You have to unzip the .zip file (if you're on a Windows computer, it'll be an option in the top left of the window) and then open up the file from the unzipped folder. Double click on the file and it'll open it. If you're talking about appending the file or something else, that's totally different.
