I have only been using Blender for a few months. I used it last Fall for our company's Christmass card, to model a few simple things. It's a tricky program, but I'm having a lot of fun learning. Well, fun may not be the right word since 3D rendering is part of my job. I just don't have a lot of experience modeling stuff.
The basic glass material, which I altered a bit, came from a tutorial by Kent Trammell on refractive materials over at CGCookie.
Hope this is of use to someone. The background texture is mine, made using FilterForge3.
