Description:

A simple Card deck Rig, that i've made for this commercial:

http://vimeo.com/57871722

The materials are just plane colors, textures are not included!

Well, it's just a bone chain, controlled by an IK (bones visible in front and the one on the back)

every bone in the chain has one child bone that inherits the rotation and position but NOT the scale (so the cards stay the same scale). All them are in other hidden bone layer.

The third visible bone (vertical one named "slide") can slide the cards in their Z local axis, and can rotate too, for adding extra movement.

here's a illustrative video so you can get the idea:

Of course, this is a very simple rig, as my skills in this area are very limited, but feel free of improve and share!

I just loved the video, so thank you for responding so quickly and uploading the blend, Martin.

I'm very new to node editing and trying to understand what is happening here.

I tried playing the animation: the Timeline and Dope sheet windows cycle through the 200 frames, but nothing happens in the 3D window.

Please can you help me get started?

By the way, well done on the nominations for the Vacui spacii shorts. I enjoyed the spiral work in Part XIX: texo the most.

I notice there are a couple of bare bones tutorials on there. I really would appreciate one for this card rig, if you can spare the time?

every card has it's own material. :( sorry for that. I bet that would be better to replace the entire set in one texture, but this is not the case. You need to export every card as a png (or jpg) and reload into each one material.

I'm trying to make a deck of cards you can throw like Gambit from the X-Men, and i would like to know how this rig works because there aren't enough cards for my purposes and i cannot replicate the same effect without such a rig.

Interesting idea with a simple deck of cards rig! I really like the approach of using IK chain and individual dice to control the position without affecting the scale. This solution looks easy and convenient for quick animation, especially in small commercial projects or educational tests. The simplicity of materials without textures makes the scene clean and easy to render.

This philosophy of simplification and functionality reminds me of the approach often used in projects related to gambling themes, for example, on the Online Online СasinoHEX Slovensko platform. They also emphasize clarity, convenience and simple but effective design.

Thanks for the open access to the file - it's nice to see when the authors share their work. I think this rig can be improved by adding flexibility control or a little random movement of the cards to give even more dynamics.

En general, Pin Up Casino me transmite confianza.

I’ve been exploring different online casino platforms recently, and one thing that really stands out is how much VIP program benefits can change the overall experience. A lot of players focus only on bonuses or game selection, but long-term perks like cashback, faster withdrawals, personal support, and exclusive rewards can make a huge difference.

What I like most is that a well-structured VIP system actually rewards consistent play instead of pushing you into unnecessary spending. When the tiers are clear and the rewards are realistic, it adds a sense of progression that makes the platform more enjoyable.

If anyone has had particularly good experiences with VIP programs or noticed unique perks somewhere, I’d be interested to hear about it.
