Just the net and rim, you can make your own backboard or bolt it onto whatever. I looked all over the web for a free decent one and couldn't find it so I took a little time to make one. It's acceptable. ALSO FREE! So while it may be rough, it looks great from afar and you can tweak it if you want. I don't think I joined too much and kept all the faces for easier editing. I only made half of one of the bottom loops and used a series of mirror/array modifiers to get the rest of the net. Then it was just a matter of stretching the top row to get the right shape.
Oh man! Thx for the advice. I am new to Blender (been using about 6 months now) and have never even LOOKED at the Cast modifier. After seeing what it does, it helps out a TON with a new project I am looking at doing. It may have saved me hours!
Ohhh, been a while since I logged on last. I don't think I have this file anymore. I could re-download it but I think it may be because the rim and net aren't joined? I can't remember off the top of my head, but that may be how i made it. It would probably take a little adjusting to get it to stick correctly. If I get some time I will re-look this one.
What modifications need to be done to make animation like https://imgur.com/ABgqweQ?
Nice work! Add a Cloth simulator followed up by a Cast modifier linked to the ball you are using and the net will expand and contract as the ball passes through.
