This is my first try at something a bit, erm, bigger than my usual architectural scenes so it's definitely not perfect. It's a royal-ish hall, hence the emphasis on gold and red, and is lit by an HDR image from both sides of the scene. Rendered with Cycles at about 800 passes.
Thank you! Haha well for the carpet I chose it to be torn apart just for fun, but its just a texture i made myself in GIMP with transparent background and then used an alpha map on the carpet, you can see it in the compositor node setup.
Nice ... I feel so dumb cause I though you designed it ( I would have done it too xD ) . So I guess it is not all about modeling....
Well, some things are just way too time consuming to model or simply too hard, and alpha maps are widely used to "fake" some of these things, like tears, or leafs for example.
Might try to make a new combat location for my project Ancient Beast out of this ^^
