This is a basic pin-screen you'd find in an executive toy section of a souvenir store.
The model is created using a hair particle system applied to a plane. It is fully editable and you can use your own impression in a form of a displacement map and displacement modifier. The plane controlling the height of the pins is already unwrapped and ready to have a custom texture applied. The entire model transformation is controlled by an empty and therefore is easy to move around. All the materials and lighting are made using cycles. The final render result has a Vignette filter applied to it via nodes.
