This is a simple vault door, a one you'd find in a bank vault.
The door is fully animated. It has two locks, one controlling the dead-bolts inside and one controlling the smaller lock outside. Once you open the file, simply start animation to see the door in action. Or, alternatively, there are three empty objects immediately to the left of the door which control the opening of the door and two locks. The empties are labeled for your convenience. Simply rotate them along Z-axis to engage locks and open door. The animations are created using drivers and shape-keys.
The door is still low poly with subsurf modifier on it, so it can be used for a game or similar project. All the objects that have radial symmetry are created using arrays and empties as offsets, therefore making it easily editable. The lighting and material setup is created for Cycles rendering.
Thanks! Are you sure it doesn't work? Works for me. Maybe sketchfab was down when you tried?
I created a short animation and attributed here: https://vimeo.com/76777966 Thank you so much for sharing a great model, including the animation!
That is awesome! It's great to see my model come to life. That's why I published it here in the first place:) Great video, thanks for sharing.
I can't get this to work. Hitting play moves the rig controls, but the model doesn't respond at all. When I try to pull it into Unity there are weird bars that are scaled funny too. Am I running into version problems or something?
I got it fixed. There was a blender error I wasn't seeing at the top. When I switched to the 'trusted engine' or whatever it totally fixed it. Great model/anim!
i do not understand how to get the animation on the door to work please help.
Could it be the same problem that theazariah is having above? This is animated using drivers, which are basically python expressions, and newer version of blender seems to have it disabled by default now. Check if you have any errors displayed on top when you load the file and try enabling auto execution in blender user preferences under "File".
The body is fine , but how did you make a movie of the whole thing in cycles its very slow for me ....any ideas
Thanks for providing this blend! I used it in the 3D music video that I created, The Problem with Friends: https://youtu.be/rWUA2DTUi4o
Cool stuff, When i switch to Blender engine and render its not visible anymore not sure whats the problem
