Just for fun... a (semi-fictional) engine as used in the Top Fuel dragsters. This is by no means perfect, but I think it's good enough for most purposes. Even if you don't like the engine itself, there's a ton of mechanical junk that you can steal for other projects.
Note: If anyone's curious, these engines really do have 8 spark plugs on each side (2 per cylinder).

Did you have blueprints or plans from which to work? If so, where did you get them?

Written May 31, 2016Thanks! I didn't have blueprints for this particular engine, no. But I'm generally familiar with car engines and I wasn't trying to model a specific one. So I took the dimensions of a generic V-8 block and relied on photo references to detail it.

Written July 13, 2016Wow! very slick model. You've got really nice and clean model here. Wondering how you pulled this off, need to step up my modeling skills. Im busy wit a Shelby Cobra and eventually i want to put in a engine as well.
PS did you use this image as reference, the hemi evolution engine http://www.dragracermag.com/hemi-engine-evolution-the-only-constant-is-change-especially-with-the-nitro-hemi looks almost the same
