When I started BlendSwap.com I wanted every model uploaded to the site to be free for any use possible. However I've had a lot of questions and requests for using some kind of licensing to indicate what the models can be used for, so I am thinking of implementing Creative Commons licensing on Blendswap.com, how I see this working is that when you upload a model, there will be a new drop down box that would include the CC licenses for you to choose from.
Once you've made a choice and finished with the submitting process your model would be posted with the new CC license attached to your models post page. What do you guys think of this? Are there to many different licenses to choose from? Is there a full bore open license that I'm missing something like, use it for whatever, you don't need to credit me, this is free game? Let me know your guys' thoughts on whether or not you think this would make Blendswap.com better.

Hi, Thanks for the detailed post. While you talk about licenses for redistributing the blend files, you don't discuss redistributing images or videos rendered from these blend files. Can you also specify for which licenses, we can redistribute images or videos rendered from the blend files?
We've created a small dataset of videos for our research. I would like to know which of them we can redistribute.
