We have reset all our security keys including the user password encription keys in order to recover from a terrible bug that was discovered in OpenSSL a couple days back. The Heartbleed bug affected many servers (if not most) on the Internet, it is a flaw by which an attacker would be able to gain access to a server encryption directives and other very sensitive data.
We have fixed the problem on our server since and the current setup has been secured by a quick update of the OpenSSL service we use on our server. However due to this reset, you will be forced to reset your password to re-gain access to your account yet again.
We are very sorry about this but we also want you to understand that this is a required security measure we had to implement in order to keep the site secured along with your user data.
We have no reason to believe that the site has been exploited, but even so it is best if we secure it now of course.
Furthermore, we also recommend you to change your password on other sites that were affected by the OpenSSL flaw, including Facebook, Google, Soundcloud, Pinterest and Dropbox, among many other web services that were affected by the OpenSSL flaw.
Again, we want to make clear this was not a problem exclusive to Blend Swap, it affected a huge part of the Internet, so we recommend you secure all your other web accounts on other services.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
The Blend Swap Crew
