We're Still Here.
So I just realized that we haven't had a news update in like 6 months. Sorry about that, as many of you know life can just get away from you at times. Rest assured we are still here plugging away, working to make the site better for everyone. So here's a little update on what we've been up to for the past 6 months.
Jonathan has been pounding keys like crazy to make the site better all the time. The next update of the site should work notably faster than the current version, allowing us to have a faster responding server. This isn't a huge release and you might not see much change on the frontend as far as design is concerned, but we are hoping that you'll be able to see a general speed up of the site.
This update(5.5) will be the foundation for the next big version of Blend Swap, version 6.0 of the site will have public APIs for almost anything on the site, allowing users to develop Blender plugins that will integrate with our service smoothly. There will be some design changes and UI/UX changes that will hopefully improve the functionallity and use of the site. Version 6 of the site is still a ways off, but it should be a fairly large update. The base update known as 5.5 will be released before the New Year, we hope it will be as enjoyable to you as always.
