A simple representation of our solar system. All textures are procedural, so don't expect to recognize the planet that follows the path of our home planet. You can find good earth textures here:
https://visibleearth.nasa.gov/collection/1484/blue-marble
The textures in this blend are designed to work fine in Eevee, even with a single core PC. The "Class M" planet though is noticeably more heavy because of all the procedural textures for clouds, land, poles etc.
The sun is very weak in the outer regions, so without the auto-exposure-addon you can either increase the strength of the central point lamp into insane values, or use the point lamps that are parented to the cameras of the two most distant planets.
The relative scale, path- and rotation speed of the planets are roughly as in real world, but not precise enough for a procedural calendar.
The scene gives you a glimpse of the vastness of our solar system, since selecting everything and hitting the "home"-button might lead to the need to increase your viewport camera's clipping values.
The sun has animated mass ejections (billboard particle system w/ procedural turbulence texture). Don't forget to activate bloom effect.
PLEASE NOTE that at this point in time blender's asset browser can't handle collections properly. Instead you have to append it the old way. Sorry for the inconvenience. The developers are aware of it and do their best to find the way out of this.
May this blend help you getting a broader view on all the rubbish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buqtdpuZxvk ;)
Very well done! I can see the planets all in a line but do can't seem to see them animate an orbital path. I don't know if that would require an additional script but I am absolutely loving what you've done and shared here.
Connecting a solar system can be daunting, but I discovered a helpful blog that simplifies the process. The guide at https://a1solarstore.com/blog/how-many-watts-does-a-refrigerator-use-cold-numbers.html provides a thorough overview of how to connect your solar system components. From understanding the wiring setup to ensuring all connections are secure and safe, this blog offers invaluable insights for a successful DIY solar project. The clear instructions and practical tips make this guide an essential read for anyone looking to harness solar power at home.
